The Benelli Legacy

Benelli built its name on a single idea: a semi-automatic that runs on inertia instead of gas. Founded in Urbino, Italy in 1967, the company adopted the Inertia Driven action — three core moving parts, no gas ports to foul — and built a reputation for guns that simply do not quit, shot after shot, season after season.

The Super Black Eagle changed waterfowl hunting when it arrived as the first 3½-inch semi-auto, and the family that followed — M2, Montefeltro, Ethos — carried the same clean-running action into the field and onto the clays course. The M4 took it to the far end of hard use, earning its place in United States military service.

Part of Beretta Holding and still made in Italy, Benelli pairs that mechanical simplicity with modern metallurgy and finish. At Woolley Shooting we're proud to carry the line — and to help you match the right Benelli to the way you actually shoot.

Benelli Engineering

Inertia Driven System

Benelli's signature action cycles on the recoil energy of the shot, not a tap of barrel gas. With three main moving parts and nothing to clog, it stays cleaner and keeps cycling long after a fouled gas system would quit — the reason Benelli owns the reputation it does in the blind.

Crio System

Barrels and choke tubes are treated with a deep cryogenic process that relieves stress in the steel. The result is a smoother bore, tighter and more consistent patterns, and choke tubes that resist fouling and wear.

ComforTech & Progressive Comfort

Benelli's recoil systems live inside the stock — chevron dampers and progressive buffers that soak up felt recoil and muzzle jump. Heavy 3½-inch waterfowl loads and long days on the course both come off noticeably softer.

BE.S.T. Surface Treatment

Benelli Surface Treatment bonds a diamond-like carbon coating to barrels and treated parts that shrugs off rust, corrosion and abrasion — proven through months of saltwater immersion and backed by a 25-year warranty against rust and corrosion on treated components.

Easy-Loading Design

An enlarged loading port, a beveled carrier, and an oversized bolt handle and release make a Benelli fast to feed and clear — even in gloves, even in the cold, even when the birds are working.

Made in Italy

Designed and built in Urbino and backed by Beretta Holding, every Benelli pairs that inertia-driven simplicity with modern Italian metallurgy, fit, and finish — engineering you can feel the first time you mount one.

Benelli Tactical

The M4 & M2 Tactical — the defensive semi-autos.

The M4 is the gun that carried Benelli into United States military service — a gas-operated (A.R.G.O.) auto-loader, fast-cycling and built for the worst day. Alongside the M2 Tactical, it's the standard for home defense done right.
